In 2016, I set out on a 3-month journey around the world to seek out the world’s pre-eminent spiritual leaders, healers, and gurus. My path took me to Ayahuasca ceremonies guided by Shipibo shamans, Mahasi-style meditation retreats under the tutelage of highly realized Sayadaws, and San Pedro circles facilitated by medicine men. One clear theme emerged between the different teachings - love.

The natural world also facilitates transformation. The mountains, rivers, and jungles stirred a sense of awe and splendor. The tiny hummingbirds and ancient trees were magical.

Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Shipibo, and Q’Ero cultures all had something precious to teach me. My visits were an opportunity to sit with my own cultural conditioning and stoked the imagination.
